Homecoming Coordinating Committee

The function of the Homecoming Coordinating Committee is to coordinate the calendar of events for the annual campus Homecoming Week celebration and to coordinate the publicity of the week’s events. The Homecoming Coordinating Committee will also be responsible for identifying/securing funding for Homecoming activities and determining the distribution of budget. The committee strives to present a program of interest to both current UNI students and returning alumni, to connect the campus with the Cedar Valley community, and to ensure a schedule that reduces event conflicts.

The planning and implementation of the Homecoming Week events are the responsibility of the sponsoring organization, not the Coordinating Committee. The Coordinating Committee may establish subcommittees to plan and implement new initiatives that would be transferred to a sponsoring organization if continued.

Membership

The committee is jointly the responsibility of the divisions of University Advancement and Student Life. The committee is composed of representatives from Alumni Relations, University Relations, Housing & Dining, Athletics, Admissions, Public Safety, Campus Activities Board, Student Involvement, President’s Office and Facilities. The committee is co-led by the assistant vice president of Alumni Relations, the director of Student Involvement and Event Services, and the director of University Relations.

Meetings

The committee will meet at least twice in the fall, twice in the spring and once during the summer.
